    We’ve got a 16 year old reclining sofa and chair. The chair is still fine but the sofa has worn out on one cushion. It’s not one you can turn the cushions on but it’s still fine apart from that. I started seeing if anyone made a cover for such things - and they do. I have to say I was pretty excited when they arrived - much earlier than had been stated. I started putting them on immediately, but kind of knowing in my head that the material was never going to look good…. It’s like a stretchy dress my sister had when we were growing up.
    Anyway, from a distance our horrible dark brown suite looked like a slightly nicer grey suite (they’ve got high backs so our soooo practical but just don’t look stylish). I first got my daughter in to look - without prejudice her 9 year old face said it all….. basically what on earth?! We tried sitting on them, but they were really slidey and didn’t particularly fit well. There’s some cardboard ‘ Toblerone‘ style wedges that are in some way supposed to make it all fit, it might sort of work with a velvet material but on ours it was just laughable. My wife’s reaction was the deathnail….. they had to go back. Shame but maybe I can get them mended instead for the price.
